Delaney's Blog: Sunday November 12

Sadly today we had to say goodbye to the wonderful people who hosted us, their families, teachers, and the beautiful landscape of Tokyō. Everyone took their trains to school with the sadness of knowing it was our last times. We got to school and everyone all started mingling immediately.  Bunkyō students as well as CGS students all getting along and speaking each other's native languages. We were all laughing about something whether it was while trying to figure out other words to say in order to explain things we couldn't say in Japanese or English, or making weird hand gestures to explain things. After our sad hug and tear filled departure, we made our way onto the empty train which was a rare sighting for this trip. We made our way through the crowded train station up and down the stairs with all of our heavy suitcases while finding our way around. We took an hour long flight to Kagoshima which everyone dozed off during making it short and painless. When we got to Kagoshima, there was a street festival going on that we got to watch while walking to our hotel.
That night we had a few hours to walk around a mall within a train station. It was all lit up outside with beautiful Christmas lights and a tree made of light bulbs. After being lost in the mall for a good hour, a few boys that obviously knew their way around, nicely had to guide us in the direction of actual food while being stranded on a floor of clothing. After a long day of travel and finding our ways around the mall and Kagoshima, everyone went to bed awaiting what was next on the agenda for our trip to Yakushima.
